On a historic day that marks a significant milestone in the journey of the International Tent Pegging Federation, enthusiasts of this ancient sport gathered on Friday, October 27th, at the Global Tent Pegging Day forum. This event was conducted through visual communication technology to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the Federation’s establishment.
The forum commenced with a speech by Sheikh Mohamed Issa Alfairuz, the President of the Federation, who expressed his profound joy on this occasion, saying, “It is my great pleasure to convey my heartfelt congratulations to all members of the Federation’s board of directors, the general assembly members, and all the participants and admirers of tent pegging sports worldwide. I must also emphasize my deep appreciation to the Sultanate of Oman for their significant and continuous support to the Federation and the sport of tent pegging.”
The forum featured the participation of Sara Elmasry, President of the Canadian Tent Pegging Federation, who skillfully moderated the forum and shared valuable insights on the development of the sport and efforts to enhance its global standing.
In a significant step towards achieving new accomplishments, the International Federation announced the inclusion of new countries in the list of member states, bringing the total count to 45 nations. The Federation aspires to expand this list further and make tent pegging a recognized Olympic sport, ensuring its participation in future Olympics.
During the forum, the opportunity was provided for questions from both riders and members, where they exchanged opinions and ideas on ways to develop the sport and achieve its ambitious goals. Furthermore, the winners of the tent pegging video presentation competition were announced, and they were honored for their creativity in various categories.
